We all know that the moon’s surface is filled with craters. On a very clear night, you might even be able to see them with one of the best telescopes but did you know that the Earth also has craters that are the results of asteroids and more?
There are more than 100 confirmed impact craters which can be categorized between young, large, and largest craters. The largest cater on Earth that has been verified was more than 300 kilometers across when it formed.
The second-largest crater that is confirmed is the Beaverhead crater which is almost 600 million years old. This crater was not discovered until the 1990s in the regions of Montana and Idaho in the United States.
Currently, North America has the highest amount of confirmed craters in the world.
